The PRIX EUROPA is the annual competition for the best European radio, television and internet programmes. It was set up by the ECF and the Council of Europe in 1987.

In 2008, PRIX EUROPA received 582 entries; 213 of these (from 31 countries) were selected to go forward. All of the entries competing within the eight categories of the competition reflect the reality of Europe as a continent of contrasting individual experiences presented in an endless variety of themes.
The PRIX EUROPA 2008 reached its festive climax with the Awards Gala in the RBB Haus des Rundfunks in Berlin on Saturday night, 25 October.
12 award winners were celebrated and took home a PRIX EUROPA Trophy and 6,000 Euros each. Over 1000 media professionals had travelled to Berlin to select the best productions of the year 2008.
In 2009 the competition will run from 17 - 24 October. For all relevant information on past and future competitions please visit the official site of the PRIX EUROPA festival.
