Journalists' workshops & events
Our journalists' workshops offered those taking part a collegial platform for debate as well as the chance to find new collaborators and start joint projects. Discussions ranged over such topics as gender issues in popular culture media, the role of advertising, Istanbul's music scene and Moroccan hip hop.
A workshop on urban youth cultures in mass print media was held in Rotterdam on 24 and 25 November 2006. There was then a European journalism workshop co-organised by the ECF and the Turkish magazine Bant (Istanbul, June 2006), followed up with a meeting in Casablanca for critical and independent European magazines focusing on popular culture (5 to 8 June 2007, organised by the ECF and L´EAC - L´BOULVART, L´Kounach magazine).
