Diversity and cohesion: these are what characterise Europe today. Age-old differences and new urban realities present their own challenges, to artists, to cultural workers, and to people everywhere.
Here at the ECF, we go out to meet these challenges head-on, improving skills, developing policies, so that people in Europe can live creatively and at peace with diversity.

ROUTES Princess Margriet Award
The first edition of the ECF inititiated ROUTES Princess Margriet Award for cultural diversity just happened in Brussels on December 9th.

Diversity empowers
Leading cultural activists and experts formulate strong recommendations to move cross-cultural cooperation ahead in challenging times: our Reflection groups.
Our partner initiative Civil Society platform for intercultural dialogue gives a strong voice to civil society for shaping future cultural policies.
We are also actively involved in the Dutch networks in order to promote our work and create strong synergies. Lately we were nominated in the Top 5 of a local competition for organisations and their activities in the field of diveristy.

And as part of our investment in the self-expression and self-empowerment of youth in today's Europe, we are bringing together thousands of young people for the international Stranger Festival in June 2008.
