We Advocate
The ECF supports the development and reform of cultural policymaking in the EU and neighbouring regions.
We work in specific local contexts where the structures that normally support cultural life are either not in place or are weak.
We assist cultural organisations in such places to develop in a sustainable way.
And we help to bring the cultural sector into close contact with public policymakers, so that cultural policies genuinely reflect the needs and aspirations of all involved. In partnership with others, we are working to establish a comprehensive cultural strategy for diversity in Europe.
THE EU-INSIDER
The ECF supports the EU-Insider, a quarterly newsletter for all those working in the cultural field, interested in what is happening on a EU cultural policy level. The EU-Insider presents and analysis this news.

Campaigns and actions
We are lobbying for a more substantial recognition of culture in the integration of Europe and the integration of communities. In 2006 we launched the Civil Society Platform for Intercultural Dailogue with our partner Culture Action Europe. Capacity development
If cultural life is to flourish it is imperative to have adequate support structures such as professional cultural organisations and up-to-date policy frameworks in place. Therefore we help organisations to improve their working structures and develop their management skills and also support those who can reform and develop cultural policies locally. Read more...
Research and Education
We assist the development of cultural policy research and of the infrastructure necessary to arrive at informed cultural policies for Europe and Europe's neighbouring regions. We contribute to this with activities as the Cultural Policy Research Award and cooperation with research institutes and ad-hoc research and studies. Read more...
