Cultural Decontamination?

Routes Award winner 2009, Borka Pavicevic will be the special guest at this debate at the cultural hub De Balie in Amsterdam. The debate will tackle the tackle the role and power of art in post and potential conflict areas. The main question will be: What are the new challenges for artists and independent cultural spaces in cultural decontamination for the future?

New Times New Models

ECF grantee Cultural Centre Pekarna is holding a conference on the role played by independent culture in shaping the development of society locally and globally. 'New Times New Models' will take place at the Centre in Maribor, Slovenia, from the 28th to the 30th of January 2010. Routes Award 2009

The Routes Award ceremony 2009 will honor theatermaker Stefan Kaegi and Borka Pavićević, cultural activist and founding Director of Belgrade’s Centre for Cultural Decontamination. The country's first-ever cultural congress took place in Parliament on December 12th 2009, with the acting President voicing strong support for the reform process.
