Activities

Our activities focus on inspiring creative expression and interaction between artists and cultural organisations working to make all of Europe's societies more open and inclusive. We are also building Europe’s future by empowering the new generation of Europeans, may they be youth or from neighbouring European countries.

ECF’s two central programmes are the European Neighbourhood  and Youth and Media which both strive towards our three guiding principles: linking policy and practice, connecting sources of knowledge and instigating change through art and culture. The two programmes, which started in 2010 and will continue through to 2012, focus on facilitating, empowering and creating new spaces for exchange and development. They interlink throughout Europe with our advocacy actions and digital platforms, such as LabforCulture and Rhiz.eu.

All activities form a central part of our new thematic direction of Narratives for Europe, which seek to amplify, reveal and tell stories about each other’s Europe. Our work is also transmitted throughout Europe by the publications we initiate or collaborate on. These publications help us to advocate and further our research, as well as feeding into future programme development.
